Did Moses really esteem the reproaches of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt as written in Hebrews 11: 24-26? Was Christ really back there with Moses?

Let’s look into this:

Hebrews 11:24-26
24. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

((Are you serious! Moses esteemed the reproaches of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt. Was Christ really back there with Moses? Let’s look further into this.

1Corinthians 10:1-5
1. Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

((Okay, so that was Christ back there with Moses. It was Jesus the Christ that followed Moses. Let’s continue.))

5. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

((Was Jesus really God back there? Let’s pause for a second and take a look at some other scriptures to confirm this.))

John 1:1-3
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

((The Word was there in the beginning, and the Word was with God(The Father), and the Word was God. Therefore, it was two Gods in the beginning: God(The Father), and this other God, which is called “The Word.” Let’s continue and see in detail about this God called “The Word.”

2. The same was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
((So…this God(The Word) was in the beginning with this other God, yet this God, that’s called the Word made all things. Let’s continue.))

14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

((The “Word,” was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and he was the only begotten of the Father. Somebody fit this description. Let’s take a look.

Acts 13:33
33. God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

((So…this “Word,” which is God, and was made flesh, was no other than Jesus the Christ back there with Moses. Let’s continue on with 1 Corinthians 10:6-10

6. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

((Now these where the children of Israel back there with Moses in the wilderness.))

8. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

((Again, they tempted Christ, and they were destroyed of serpents.))

10. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

((Let’s take a look at in detail how they tempted Christ and was destroyed of serpents.))

Numbers 21:5-9
5. And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
6. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
7. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
8. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

((Those that where bitten by a serpent, had to have faith. They had to believe that they’ll live, only by looking upon the fiery serpent, which was upon the pole that Moses setup.))

9. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

((Yes, that was Jesus the Christ back there with Moses. He followed the children of Israel throughout the Red Sea and the wilderness.))

Until again,

Grace and Peace
