What is the difference between Hebrews and Jews?

It all started with Abraham, as far as who was an Hebrew. The word Hebrew means “wanderer”. Let’s check it out.

Genesis 14:13
13. And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.

((Abraham was an Hebrew, and he had no children at this point. Let’s continue and fast forward to what God mentioned to him about having children.))

Genesis 15: 1-5
1. After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2. And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

((Okay, Abrams name hasn’t changed to Abraham yet, but he mentions to God that he has no children, but a steward of his house, Eliezier.))

3. And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
4. And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

((God tells Abram that his steward will not be his heir, but he shall have a child that comes out of him. Let’s continue.))

5. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

((Okay, the Lord says that his seed(offspring) will be so many, just as the stars of heaven.))

6. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

((Abram believed the Lord. Let’s fast forward again to Abram’s named being changed to Abraham and him having his first child. Let’s continue.))

Genesis 17: 1, 4- 5
1. And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
4. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

((Okay, The Lord said his covenant is with Abram, and he’s gonna be the Father of many nations, therefore his name was changed to “Abraham,” meaning the Father of many people. Let’s bag up to the point where Abraham had his first child.))

Genesis 16; 1, 3-4, 15
1. Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
3. And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
4. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
15. And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

((Summary: Okay, keep in mind that Abraham is a Hebrew, so.. his seed(his children would be considered Hebrews as well. Similar to when a man marries a woman and their children carrying their Fathers name as we operate in these modern times. Okay now that he had his first son Ishmael by Hagar, his son Ishmael and his seed are now “Hebrew Ishmaelites.” Who are the Hebrew Ishmaelites? A modern term for them today, that we are familiar with, would be “The Arabs or Arabian people.” Okay let’s fast forward to his next child, Isaac.))

Genesis 21: 1-5
1. And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

((Okay, as I mentioned before, Abraham is a Hebrew, so therefore Isaac is a Hebrew as well. Let’s fast forward to Isaac having his children.))

Genesis 25: 19-26
19. And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
20. And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
21. And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
22. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
23. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

((Okay, the Lord said that two nations(two nationalities or two ancestry of people) are in her womb. Basically she’s going to have twins, but they’re going to be two totally different people. These twins are brothers, but they’re two different nationalities. Let’s continue.))

24. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
25. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
26. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

((The names of them are Esau and Jacob. They’re Hebrews as well, because their Father Isaac is Hebrew, just as their Grandpa, Abraham was. Let’s look at Esau, and another name he’s called by.)))

Genesis 25: 30
30. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

Edom(Esau) is a Hebrew, therefore we can call him and his descendants, “Hebrew Edomites.” Who are the Hebrew Edomites? In these modern days, they go by the name “Israeli’s”, they have fair complexion like the Europeans(white people) and if dressed in the same cloths as the European, you couldn’t tell the difference, in most cases. No offense to the Europeans, I’m just trying to make a point and be clear as possible. The world at large recognizes these Edomites as the Jews, but they’re not, ref. Revelation 3: 9. Let’s take a look at Jacob, the second born twin, and his name being changed to “Israel”.))

Genesis 32: 28
28. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

Genesis 35: 10
10. And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

((Jacob name was changed to Israel, therefore we can call him and his descendants, “Hebrew Israelites.” Who are the Hebrew Israelites? A modern term for them today, would be the so called Negroes, descendents of the slaves today. They even label us as “African-American,” yet we are not African, neither American. We can be considered an “American citizen,” because we we’re born here, yet our nationality is not American, we’re “Hebrew Israelites,” by nationality. The Land of Africa is not the Original name of that land. The Original name of that land or Continent is “The Land of Ham,”. ref Psalm 105: 23. Africa is named after a European(white man), A roman general name Scipio Africanus. If we are gonna title anyone an African it would be the descendants of Ham, the second son of Noah. They populate the majority of what we called the continent of Africa today. Us negroes and Hamites(Africans) are not the same people, although we have the same complexion, we’re two different nationalities. Let’s take a quick look at Ham’s children.

Genesis 10: 6
6. And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

Simplified- Cush(Ethiopians), Mizraim(the Ancient Egyptians, not them Arabs that reside in Egypt now). The Arabs conquered Egypt in the 7th century A.D. and push the real Egyptians to the outskirts of Egypt. All Ham’s children are black, but they are not the negroes. They don’t even consider themselves negroes.

((Okay let’s continue and look at Jacob(Israel) having his children, he had 12 sons and one daughter, but this list is of the sons.))

Genesis 35: 23-26
23. The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24. The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25. And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26. And the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.

((These are the 12 Tribes of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. The 12 Tribes of Israel are all Hebrew Israelites, but only the descendants of the Tribe of Judah can be considered Jews, because Jew is short for Judah.))
