What was nailed on the cross and the covenants? Extended Version.

An answer from God

KJV Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

((Let’s find out what handwriting of ordinances was nailed to the cross.))

KJV Ezekiel 43:18-19
18. And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord God; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
19. And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord God, a young bullock for a sin offering.

((These are the ordinances that were against us, that were taking out of the way, and nailed to the cross. Those ordinances were of animal sacrificing for sin offering. Let’s prove it out.))

KJV Hebrews 10:10-12
10. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

((The animal sacrificial law was nailed to the cross, not the other laws and commandments. Now we don’t rely on the blood of bulls and goats when we sin, which couldn’t give us life eternal. It was instituted to slow us down from sinning, until Jesus(the lamb of God) appear for our sins, because back then you could go broke and become poor if you sacrificed most of your livestock for sinning. Now we have the blood of Jesus, which leads unto eternal life. Let’s continue and look at Apostle Paul speak concerning this matter to the Ephesians.)

KJV Ephesians 2:13-15
13. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

(((Jesus abolished in his flesh the law of commandments contained in ordinances of the sacrificial law, not the 10 commandments and numerous other laws and commandment he put forth. Let’s look at the first covenant and more in depth of the ordinances concerning sacrificial law and sin offering.)))

KJV Hebrews 9:1-14
1. Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3. And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4. Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5. And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

((Note: For future reference, keep in mind, that it’s the high priest job to offer the blood of the sacrifices of sin offering for himself and for the errors(iniquity/sin) of the people.))

8. The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

Note: Verse 8- Jesus was the Holiest of all, he was not made manifest in the flesh when these ordinances of the sacrificial law was set up.

9. Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;

((We could not be made perfect as pertaining to the conscience by offering sacrifices of bulls, goats, and etc. for sins. We needed something better. Let’s continue.))

10. Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

((Note: These things(meats, drinks, divers washings, ect.) were imposed on them until the time of reformation. So these carnal ordinances existed until the time something else took its place. Reformation means to improve by alteration, or to abolish something to set in place something better.))

11. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

((Okay, now that Christ has been manifested in the flesh, the reformation is going forth, and things are changing for the better. Jesus has become our High Priest. Therefore, what need is there for the other high priests which did the services of God as such as (sprinkling blood of sacrifices before the altar for sins, meats, drinks, divers washings, ect.) to continue? There is no need anymore, now that Jesus has arrived. Jesus by his own blood, not the blood of goats and calves, obtained eternal redemption for us, so that we can be saved. Let’s continue.))

13. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

((Much more worthy is the blood of Christ, than those animals blood. Eternal life couldn’t be obtained by the blood of bulls and goats, only by Jesus blood. Let’s look further into the ordinances of the sacrificial law and Jesus coming in the flesh to die for our sins.))

KJV Hebrews 10:1-12, 16-22
1. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

((For the Law, what law, the sacrificial law was a shadow of good things to come. That good thing to come was Jesus into this world to die for our sins. Let’s continue.))

2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

((If it’s not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away our sins, then what are we going to do? What would we all be facing in the future(judgement day)no matter how much righteousness we’ve did, if Jesus had not come to die for our sins? Our answer: The lake of fire. If something else didn’t come about or another outlet, we were all doomed no matter how many animals are sacrificed. Jesus was and is our outlet. Let’s continue.))

5. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: Luke 1:26, 30-35
6. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

((The Father had no pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices because they couldn’t give us eternal life.))

7. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

((The sacrifices are offered by the sacrificial law, not the other laws and commandments. We have to be specific what law Jesus replaced, and that law was, “The sacrificial law.”))

9. Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

((He took what away? Was it the 10 commandments, and all the laws of God? No, it was the Levitical Priesthood and the sacrificial law.))

10. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

16. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; ref. Romans 7:7, Exodus 20:17, Exodus 20: 1-17

((The new covenant is that the Lord will put his laws into our hearts and our minds he’ll write them. If all the laws were nailed to the cross, why are we still reading about keeping them laws and commandments still? The reason is, is that, they are still active. Note: We’re reading this in the book of Hebrews, Jesus has died and risen, and is sitting on the right hand of the Father.))

17. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

((Jesus died once, and that’s it. If we continue in our sins, we’re going to die for ourselves.))

19. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

((Jesus is our veil, we’re cleansed through his flesh, his death, and by his blood, we have a right to inherit eternal life.))

21. And having an high priest over the house of God;

((Remember, Jesus has become our high priest, ref Hebrews 9: 11.))

22. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Ref. Hebrews 9: 9

((Let’s take a look at what happen to the veil in the temple when Jesus died upon the cross.))

KJV Mark 15:37-38
37. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
38. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

(((After Jesus death, the Veil of the temple where the high priest did the animal sacrifices split in two from the top to the bottom. In Hebrews 10: 20 the scripture says that the veil now is his flesh. This lets us know that we don’t have to go before any priest or man on earth with our sins behind any veil or with animals to be sacrificed for our sins. We now have an high priest over the House of God, which is Jesus, that we must go to for remission of sins. Let’s continue.)))

KJV Hebrews 10:26-31
26. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Jesus is not going to die for us again. We have to do our part as Romans 12:1 says “ye present your bodies a living sacrifice” and if not.

27. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Fiery indignation(The Lake of fire), if we don’t present our bodies a living sacrifice. Now it痴 our turn to walk in righteousness. Jesus did it! He knows who’s seeking the truth and his righteousness. He knows also, who’s taking his blood for granted as a green card or license to sin willfully.

28. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30. For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Grace and Peace
