What’s nailed to the cross?

Let’s take a look:

KJV Colossians 2:14
14. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

((Okay, let’s find out what ordinances was against us and nailed to the cross.))

KJV Ezekiel 43:18-19
18. And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord God; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
19. And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord God, a young bullock for a sin offering.

((Okay, this is the ordinances of the sin offering, these priests job was to go before the Lord with the bullocks of those who sinned, for remission. This next scripture is a basic break down on how sinning was resolved back then.))

KJV Leviticus 4:27-31
27. And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
28. Or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.
29. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
30. And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
31. And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the LORD; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.

((With that being mentioned, these next scriptures lets us know why we no longer have to sacrifice animals for our sins.))

KJV Hebrews 10:1-12, 16, 24-27
1. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

For the law(sacrificial law) having a shadow of good things to come(Jesus). Those sacrifices could never make us perfect. Why?

2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

((If they could have profit us, for then would they not have ceased to be offered, why take it away. They didn’t profit us, the more flocks, the more sin I can do, and get off the hook.))
3. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

((It’s not possible for blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. So what’s the next step of recovering mankind from eternal death? We need a Savior. Let’s continue.))

5. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: Ref. Luke 1:26, 30-35

((Who’s body? Let’s continue.))

6. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

7. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

((He had no pleasure in what? The law. What law? The animal sacrificial law, not the 10 commandments, and other laws and statues, etc.))

9. Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

((We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus the Christ, not a bull, goat, ect. Jesus is the Lamb of God.))

11. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

((So.., all them sacrifices of beast upon the altar couldn’t ever take away sins, neither give us eternal life.))

12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

(Our only way out, was Jesus being sacrificed and crucified for our sins. The animal sacrificial law was nailed to the cross, not the other laws and commandments. We no longer have to observe the animal sacrificial law. It was instituted until Jesus come and die for our sins. Now we have remission of sins through him.)

16. This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

((This is the new covenant: them laws will be in our heart(mind), no matter where we go, there will they be. Not on the fringes of our coats, written on the door post or rocks, but in our mind. ref. Numbers 15: 38-39))

24. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
((We must come together to encourage one another and strengthen one another.))
26. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
((Jesus died once, that’s it. It’s on us now. If we count his grace for nothing, we’re gonna die ourselves.))
27. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
((The end result: judgment and fiery indignation(The lake of fire, burning forever, with worms chewing on the body and not being consumed, and feeling every bit of it, forever.))

Hold fast, endure until the end.
